The incidence of skin cancer has been on the rise globally in recent years. It is estimated that the lifetime risk of developing skin cancer is around 20%. Early detection plays a crucial role in improving outcomes. Detecting skin cancer at an early stage significantly increases the chances of successful treatment. For this reason, a team comprising dermatologists and biomedical engineers has designed SkinScreener, a tool aimed at determining the individual risk of abnormal skin areas using an application, complementing routine dermatological checks.

• A clinical investigation conducted at the Medical University of Graz, involving over 1500 images of actual patients, has demonstrated SkinScreener's remarkable 95% accuracy rate in skin cancer detection.
• SkinScreener is a user-friendly application created and scientifically validated by a group of dermatologists, medical professionals, and biomedical engineers. This app allows for a rapid risk assessment of skin cancer concerning skin lesions such as moles, discolorations, and birthmarks.

Users can take a photo of the concerned skin area using their smartphone's camera. Subsequently, the image undergoes analysis through our scientifically proven neural network. The risk level for skin cancer is presented in a simple 3-color code (low, medium, high risk).

• SkinScreener can be downloaded free of charge with initial complimentary scans upon registration. Additional scans are available through subscription plans for 3 or 12 months or via single scan purchases.
• Prior to scanning, users must conduct a camera test to ensure proper functionality and image quality. The scan procedure follows the provided guidelines. The algorithm generates a skin cancer risk evaluation at the specified skin area as:

1. Green: LOW RISK
2. Yellow: MEDIUM RISK
3. Red: HIGH RISK

Following the risk assessment, users are encouraged to seek advice from a dermatologist for further evaluation to attain an accurate diagnosis. Individuals with a "MEDIUM RISK" or "HIGH RISK" rating are advised to consult a dermatologist promptly beyond regular preventive dermatological examinations. A specialist will confirm outcomes through additional expert assessments.

For cases with a LOW RISK evaluation, consistent monitoring of the affected skin lesion and rescanning every month is recommended.

Nevertheless, SkinScreener users should attend annual dermatological check-ups conducted by their dermatologist.

SkinScreener is classified as a Class I medical device (European Directive 93/42/EEC) and has been clinically validated through research at the Medical University of Graz.

The use of SkinScreener is intended for adult users with Fitzpatrick skin types ranging from I (ivory) to IV (light brown) and should not be employed on children.
